Eleanor Hinton completed her training and gained considerable experience as a member of a local authority legal team, before joining Garrods Law Ltd. She particularly likes the satisfaction of representing clients in court and enjoys advocacy. Her experience of dealing with care proceedings, as well as acting for the Police in domestic violence matters, gives her a hands-on specialist knowledge. Eleanor has also gained Higher Rights of Audience (Civil), so is also a Solicitor Advocate with the right to appear in all higher courts, including the appeal courts.
Before training as a Solicitor, Eleanor completed a Masters in Human Rights and was awarded a Distinction. Eleanor previously worked at a charity providing legal advice to whistle blowers and lobbying parliament for changes to the law.
Eleanor is passionate about social justice and civil rights and has spent time volunteering at various charities including the Samaritans, Campaign Against Arms Trade and Amicus-ALJ, a charity supporting US Lawyers representing prisoners on death row in America.
Eleanor is a good listener and communicates well with clients from all backgrounds, and her previous experience covers a wealth of cases involving different cultural backgrounds.
Eleanor balances her busy work schedule by enjoying gardening, horse riding and socialising with friends.
